Career qualifications
My career consists of two specific fields: Theology and Psychology. Both these fields support my career to provide the best possible psychological and spiritual guidance. I focus on individuals, couples, and families.
I am:
Registered with HPCSA (Health Professional Council of South Africa)
Affiliated with ACRP as professional body of CPSC (Council of Pastoral and Spiritual Counsellors) with Certificate No CPSC A04141/2024.
THEOLOGY
Firstly, I studied Theology and obtained my degree at the University of Pretoria. Graduation was between 1975 and 1981.
1) Bachelor of Arts Degree obtained in 1977
2) Bachelor of Arts Degree obtained in 1980
3) Diploma in Theology obtained in 1981
APPLYING THEOLOGY STUDIES IN PRACTICE
After my studies I worked for 17 years as a Pastor. Here I have applied my qualifications in different fields. Family relationships, marriage counselling and various forms of individual growth and development. In short, life sometimes can be unexpectedly challenging, resulting in depression and anxiety. There is always hope, and joy coupled with peace that can be obtained. Many times, someone just need a helping hand. For instance, to walk through a difficult chapter in life.

Secondly, I studied my master’s degree at the University of Johannesburg. I have graduated in 1999.
4) Honours degree in Psychology. Obtained with Cum Laude in 1997
5) Master’s degree in Psychology. Obtained with Cum Laude in 1999
APPLYING PSYCHOLOGY STUDIES IN PRACTICE
Subsequently I opened my private psychology practice in 2000. Since then, I’ve helped families, individual, couples to overcome various difficult situations. For example to learn new skills. How to improve their lives and face challenges experienced at work. I have a special love for children and their well being. I always see minor children as my clients. The question I work with is “what is in the best interest of the minor”? Especially in couples going through divorce. Many families are in a situation of having stepmothers, dads and children. Certainly this can be challenging, but many practical things can be done to teach these families to win.
